Freedy has contributed a track to the 3-CD
compilation "Song of
America," out now on 31 Tigers Records. Check
out songofamerica.org
for all the information. Freedy's cut is "Peg
and Awl," a 19th century
shoe-makers' lament. Other artists include The Blind
Boys of Alabama,
John Cougar Mellencamp, BR-549, Suzy Bogguss, John
Wesley
Harding, Janis Ian, and many more. This years-long
project was
produced by Ed Pettersen with former AG Janet Reno
acting as
executive producer. You have to buy it today.
The new cover record, "My Favorite Waste
of Time," is finished, at the
pressing plant, and will be available on this site
by 12/01. It features songs
by Marshall Crenshaw, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty, Matthew
Sweet and
others. The disc was recorded in Nashville with legendary
bassist Bob
Babbitt and drummer Ed Greene, and a whole posse of
guest musicians.
You're gonna love it.
Look for Freedy's next record of originals,
"Rain on the City," sometime in
'08.
